Monthly Wrap-Up: July 2018

You know, at some point this year, I think I lost sight of the joy of blogging.

I stopped blogging for six months for a lot of reasons, but in part because I fell out of love with it. I became too concerned with what everyone else wanted to read and not what I personally wanted to express. After some time away, I feel more inspired and recharged - I feel like I have things to share again. Are those useful, inspiring, beautiful things? Sometimes. But I also want to share slivers of real life. I've missed that.

July had its ups and downs, but it also felt like starting over.
Like taking steps towards seeking peace, even in the midst of chaos.

Some July things:

Lists, always; Mornings in my car, driving to work; running sometimes; listening to any and everything Jack Antonoff; Actually Writing Again; embracing self-confidence; seeing my family and playing board games; reading the Harry Potter series; drinking tea; finding a new coffee shop that sells Nutella Pop Tarts (!!!); crying and praying and praying and crying - realizing God is there in those weak moments, too.

What about you?

What has July held for you, friends? Collect any vinyl? See any movies?
Is anyone else excited about the freshness that a new month brings?

Nutella Pop Tarts sound so amazing, and I'm glad God has been giving you strength and peace. <3

I saw a few good horror movies this month, since I am a big fan of them. I haven't collected any vinyl, but I saw The Shining at an old retro theater in my town, so that was cool and fun!

Anyways, glad to see you back. :)

    1. GAH thank you! :) <3 That means a lot! Harry Potter will never cease to inspire me...I can't believe I lived the first 20-something years of my life without reading the books. A DARN SHAME. Thanks for commenting! :)

    1. I totally agree. I went through this phase of thinking that He expected me to be perfect or something (so far from the truth), and now I am letting myself rest in His grace, because He is sufficient. Thanks, Vanessa! I'm definitely feeling renewed. :) Hope you had a lovely weekend!!

  6. I too have experienced the falling out of love with blogging. I'm a people pleaser at my very core, so I know what's like to burn out trying to please everyone, when it should be about putting out there what I have learned and sharing what I can be proud to call mine.

Yet even though it's an unpleasant experience, it's something to learn from. Now we both know ourselves a little better and can make change based on this new knowledge. :)

I am so excited for the freshness of a new month! July was great but exhausting, both emotionally and physically, so I'm ready to step into something new! Plus I'm going on vacation with the fam in August so whoop whoop, I'm excited for that too. XD

Also, those vinyls are making me itch to collect some of my own and just... stare that them to appreciate their beauty. So pretty!

    1. I feel you! The Internet can make blogging seem like a numbers game, and I defintely struggle with comparison. But those things take away the individuality and passion that blogging should have! I'm glad we're both moving on from that - and glad I'm not the only one. :)

OOF YES August is going to be #TheBombDotCom. Oh my goodness, I hope you have a blast! Really enjoy that fun vacation. :) GAH I feel you, I have such a soft spot for pretty vinyls...it's an addiction, haha.

Thanks for sharing your heart, Rosie. Have a great August!! :) <3
