Yo, so I've been a bit MIA in the blogging community currently (I blame school, my newspaper job, and Harry Potter) but I thought I'd drop in even for a quick second just to share something little with y'all.
The other day I was sitting in front of the French doors in my room (my house has a mini-balcony and my room opens up onto it but that makes it sound so much cooler than it actually is) trying to read the Bible. And sometimes, I really struggle with that. But as I was thinking, I looked up, and there was the most vibrant rainbow.
I love when God does little things like that! I saw it and had the faintest feeling that there was a verse it reminded me of, the one where God talks about rainbows. I didn't remember what verse it was, however, and went about my day.
But then today, the Verse of the Day site posted their...well, verse of the day, and whadda ya know:
"Whenever the rainbow appears in the clouds, I will see it and remember the everlasting covenant between God and all living creatures of every kind on the earth."
~ Genesis 9:16
I really can't recommend the Verse of the Day site enough. It always blows my mind with its insights. And it's pretty cool to think that God cares about the little things -- even making me smile at a rainbow. :)
+ I have been so bad at blog reading, guys. It's actually abominable. Also, I'm supposed to be writing an article right now but pssssh I'm not. ;)
ASDFGHJKL THIS POST IS BEAUTIFUL AND INSPIRATIONAL AND I LOVE IT. <3 Okay so I have kind of a cool rainbow story as well.... kind of recently, my family was dealing with a crisis and I was praying alone and just kind of talking to God like, "it'll be okay, right? Everything will be okay?" and my dad comes in the room and is like "Abbie there's a rainbow outside" and it was SO BEAUTIFUL AND VIBRANT -- and there was literally no rain or humidity and no reason for a rainbow to happen. it was like a reply to my prayer and i was like fghjkl tears :'''')
ReplyDeleteSO YEAH RAMBLING BUT THIS POST REMINDED ME OF THAT. <3
Thanks Abbie! :-) That is such an awesome story! That's what's been happening with me...it's like not raining at all, and then these rainbows will randomly appear. It's happened at least twice, my word! I love that you experienced that as well!! :D
DeleteAii, I'm having trouble with blogs too!! Life and school and stuff... sigh. Hard to find time for it all!!
ReplyDeleteRight? I keep wanting to catch up but have NO TIME. I'm so glad I'm getting to take a breather now!
DeleteI LOVE when things like this happen, it's like getting a little present- but from God. So amazing <3
ReplyDeleteI love the way you put that - "like getting a little present from God." That's exactly how it feels :)
DeleteThat is precious! It's so good when God gives us small reminders of His care. In fact, He gave me one on the weekend: I went to a book fair, but I only had a limited budget, so I thought I'd have to cull my choices and only get a few books. (I might add that I'd been wanting to go to this book fair for years, so it was a pretty big deal.) Anyway, it turned out they had a special on whatever you could fit into a bag! It's amazing to think that God cares enough about my hobbies to help me afford them. :) Anyway, that was my rainbow experience of the week! (Sorry for rambling on. :O )
ReplyDeleteI love that!! God moments are just the best. :) I had a similar experience about a year ago on my birthday. There was a specific book I had been looking to read for ages and I found it for like 25 cents at the first garage sale I came to! It was my birthday book from God. Thanks for commenting :)
DeleteGirl, I COMPLETELY FEEL YOU on the MIA stuff. Like, I haven't read hardly any blogs and posted my first post in a month today. Needless to say, I enjoyed this little reminder than even in the busy times God is working. He is never rushed.
ReplyDeleteGAH it's been crazy, no lie. Trying to catch up but struggling hardcore! And thanks for the reminder that His timing is perfect. I'm feeling a little impatient at the moment, but He is always on time :)
DeleteYou know, I love the little simple things like that. I always like believing that they are little signs He is looking out for us, even if its seeing a rainbow or for me tonight it was getting my hot water to work in my bucket shower in the middle of a monsoon. I'd been avoiding the shower all day because i couldn't face the cold water, and suddenly, for the first time in a week, it was working.
ReplyDeleteI struggle reading my bible too. Right now I'm using the bible in one year, which gives you a section every day and there is a big youth chat for every day if you want to get involved.
I love that verse btw, I will check out verse of the day sight too :)
Much love,

That's awesome! Don't you love little God moments like that? So often I think we label things as sheer coincidence, but I want to be more conscious of the little blessings He's sending my way. :)
DeleteThe Bible in a year sounds super cool! I'm in John right now and going through it verrrrrry slowly. It's super rich!
I literally could not say enough good things about the Verse of the Day site. It rocks my socks!
Thanks for the sweet comment :-) I really appreciate it!
Rainbow is my favourite phenomenon ever. I feel blessed that I can see it every time.
ReplyDeleteps: I started my personal journal, written fully in english, so if you'd ever be interested I'll leave the link: https://ofmothandmen.blogspot.com
It is the most spectacular thing! Just incredible, and it always makes me smile. And awesome, thanks, I'll go check it out! :D
DeleteThat's so cool! Oh my goodness. God is so beyond amazing. <3 And I feel you on the blog reading- I'm so behind it's not even funny.
ReplyDeleteGirl, I'm like weeks and weeks behind....I'M DROWNING IN THE ALL THE POSTS I DIDN'T READ GAH
