"my love for you has always had a sad face"

Somehow, impossibly, tomorrow marks my last day of classes for the fall semester.

I have two exams due Monday, and then it's complete.
Quite soon I shall be halfway through my junior year of college, just like that!

I am one of those souls that gets deeply nostalgic at the close of another semester.
I've been this way ever since elementary school. The end of another school year always means a miniature ending of an era, a moment in time closed off to me for good. Even though this semester has had its difficulties and irritations, I'm sad to see it go. I even thought to myself this week that I should love to stay in college forever.

To properly mourn this week, I hope to hit up a record store or grab a coffee or some other treat.
I may even go to see the last Hunger Games flick with my mom after my exams are finally finished.
It's weird; I'm sad that classes are ending but that's also super exciting. More time for writing my novel (more on that to come, I promise) and reading y'all's blogs, ya know?

What do you do to mourn/celebrate the end of another semester or school year? (:

+ I have too many stories swirling in my head and I really can't wait to put them down on paper.
I miss writing something awful. You all have thoroughly inspired me with your NaNoWriMo posts!

  1. I'm usually more excited than sad when school ends, but I think it's because I dig myself into a hole of lots of work and little sleep during exams. Because of that, I usually just lay around the house when I'm done, trying to recover :) It's cool that you like school, though. (And did you end up seeing Mockingjay? I saw it and it nearly killed me.) Thanks for sharing!

    1. Laying around the house will be my primary occupation in the days to come! I'm looking forward to those lazy, stress-free mornings. (: I have not seen it yet! My mom and I hope to go sometime next week. I've heard it's the best one! Glad you liked it -- now I can't wait!

  2. Good luck on your exams! I've read in your bio that you're a journalism student, same as me! :) But my exams will come around spring time. I don't usually celebrate end of a semster/school year but now when winter is comming it would be great to go on ice skating!

    1. Thank you!! ^_^ Yay for journalism students!! *high five* You should totally go ice skating. That sounds like the most fun. Little celebrations makes exam week worthwhile.

  3. I don't remember ever feeling this way about school, specifically... I was home schooled until grade 11, and I didn't really enjoy the high school I attended, so I was pretty happy to finish with that! I understand the feeling, though - I get that way after camp, or a summer at work for sure :)

    1. Oh, camp....camp is the best. I have so many great memories about camp. That's definitely another time in my life that is always filled with bittersweet emotions!

  4. Good luck with the rest of your studies. :) That was one of my favorite times in my life--having said that, it wasn't that long ago, really.

    1. Thank you! ^_^ I have a feeling school will stick with me, in some sense, even long after I've completed it.

  5. Good luck with your finals. I'm still in high school, but I just feel like I need a huge break. I am also nostalgic since it is close to the end of another semester. Isn't it always interesting though, to look back at the end of the semester to see how God has worked?

I seriously can't wait to see the next Mockingjay Part II :)

    1. Thank you! ^_^ I feel ya -- it doesn't matter what kind of school, it's always nice to take a break. It's always a much earned one, that's for sure! And yes, I love doing that. God has been so good to me this semester.

Me neither! Still waiting to see it. *so excited*

  6. It's nice to hear someone enjoys being in college. All I hear is people complain about it, though it is difficult, so I can't blame them. I can so relate to that feeling at the end of a semester!

    1. I definitely have my "can you just not" moments with college, but overall I'm grateful for it. :) Yes, it's the most nostalgic yet relieving thing when a semester ends!
